High discharge lamps

Metal Halide Lamps

Metal halide lamps are AC lamps in which the arc burns in an atmosphere of mercury vapour and halogenides. Based on the HMI family, further groups of lamps have been optimised for special applications, e.g. HSR, SharXS HTI, 4ArXS HSD and, most recently, the Lock-it! product group. Halogen metal vapour technology makes for high luminous efficiency for better colour rendering and colour temperature similar to daylight. Since the invention of HMI lamps in 1968, they have been continually developed and improved. Today the product spectrum encompasses double-ended and single-ended lamps, with and without an outer bulb, from 150 to 24000W.
